Dr. Elizabeth Nelson, DVM
Dr. Lissa [Elizabeth] Nelson grew up talking to the animals at Albion, Nebraska sale barn. She’s a third-generation woman alumnus of the University of Nebraska; she graduated from Iowa State University as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. The next few years she worked at animal hospitals in Alaska as well as race veterinarian at remote stations along the famed Iditarod Trail and [lesser known but tougher] Yukon Quest sled dog races. In 1992 she returned to the Husker Nation at the Plattsmouth Animal Hospital (PAH) where she honed her interests in surgery and internal medicine. She sold her interest in PAH in 2020 and moved back to the Kansas City northland in 2021, where she surrounds herself with dogs, horses, and extended family.
Lissa is an avid gardener and loves simple, nutritious cooking with fresh ingredients. She can be distracted with almost any sports story yet is most interested in volleyball.
